What is Powertex:

Powertex Ultimate Medium is an environmentally friendly, water-based liquid sculpting medium that has incredible versatility for creating all art objects, painting, sculpture and mixed media. It can be used to harden any absorbent materials such as textiles, paper, cardboard, fabrics, leather and fiberglass, and can also be easily combined with self-hardening clays, concrete, stone, ceramic, wood, sand, Stone Art and Easy3Dflex. There are 11 Powertex colours including: Transparent, Terracotta, Grey, Bronze, Ivory, Green, Black, Yellow, Red, Blue and White, that are available in 500g, 1kg or 5kg. Transparent Powertex dries to a mat finish showing the original pattern and colour of the hardened fabrics. Powercolour pigments can be added to Transparent Powertex to create any colour by simply dissolving the pigment in a little warm water, to make a paste, and stirring into the Powertex. All Powertex colours, in the pre-mixed colour range, are weather resistant and can be combined to create a diverse range of colours. Transparent Powertex needs to be sealed with Easy Varnish, which has a wax base, to make it water and weather proof. Ensure you allow your work to dry for three weeks before putting it outside. Once dry your artwork can be decorated with oil paints, acrylics, resin or pigments mixed with Easy Varnish. Imported from Powertex International Belgium.

How to use Powertex:

Powertex fabric hardener is ready to be used straight from the container. Stir well before use to ensure thorough mixing. Powertex can be applied by dipping, spraying or painting it onto your artwork. Tools and hands can be cleaned with warm water and soap. Ensure you protect your clothes and remove jewelleryas once Powertex hardens it may be impossible to remove. 100% Natural fibres work best. Test a sample before starting your main work and if the fabric sticks to itself, it should work well. Natural fibres will cure harder than unnatural fibres.

Powertex Ultimate Medium meets the highest European and American safety standards. It has undergone extensive testing and has been awarded the AP Seal for the following colours in the range: Transparent, Terracotta, Grey, Bronze, Ivory, Green, Black, Yellow, Blue and White.

Note: Powertex is not frost free while liquid. Don’t store or transport below 0°C. The minimum working temperature for Powertex is 10°C. After Powertex is cured, the temperature does not affect the finished product.
